ok as i listen to /mu/ core, i find a few interesting things

this isn't one of them. this album is nothing but long droney jam sessions with light vocals and nothing too adventurous happening. compare with other "boring" bands like radiohead, and they seem much more lively than this emo garbage.

why do you guys like this? hospice is much better.

please dont say "wall of sound"
>>
>hospice is better
lol
>>
>>69652426
>long droney jam sessions
it's pop songs with feedback loops
did you only listen to it once?
>>
>>69652426
How many times did you listen to it?
>>
i don't know, it sounds cool. i think /mu/core should only be treated as a starting point, not something that's the end all/be all in a certain genre

most /mu/core isn't a good starting point for a genre, it's just the most discussed one on /mu/.
i think it's better to look at individual essentials charts to get into genres
>>
>>69652468
>>69652452

twice so far. it's just not that good in my opinion. too droney!!!
>>
>>69652517

that's fair, but i think if i were to show the /mu/core list to, say my cousin that usually just jams pop-punk or whatever, i think they would be able to pick out different things they might enjoy from diff genres, rather than diving headfirst into something they're not extremely familiar with
>>
>>69652540
Is this your first shoegaze record?
>>
>>69652549
yeah that's true, you get a taste of all the major genres except for bleeps.
>>
>>69652426
you missed the point
>>
Just listen to when you sleep and what you want those two songs are the liveliest
>>
>>69652426
>Loveless
>drones
lmao
Listen to Souvlaki by Slowdive and Nowhere by Ride, you might like them better
>>
>>69652426
>>69653099
Whirlpool by Chapterhouse too
>>
>>69652426
>emo
>garbage
lmao

>my bloody valentine
>emo garbage
LMAO

yeah nice bait kid
>>
I felt the same when I first heard Loveless, only liking Only Shallow. Then over time other tracks started to really stick out. I'd definitely recommend listening to the +1 version of Sometimes to really appreciate it.
>>
It's just The Cranberries with more reverb wtf
>>
>>69652426
>hospice is much better
hospice sucks. especially compared to loveless you fuck. i would say hospice is more emo than loveless. fuck.
>>
>>69652426
>long droney jam sessions
fucking what
>hospice is much better.
double fucking what
and you think loveless is emo, you pleb?
>>
>>69652723
Are these most people's two favorite songs? They're my favorite.
>>
>>69656443
to here knows when and come in alone are actually the two best
>>
The textures and Bilinda's vocals are absolutely gorgeous
>>
>>69656443
Most people on this board have an affection for To Here Knows When. Other favorite varies from person to person.
>>
>>69656443
I'm the guy you responded to, it's usually sometimes, when you sleep, soon or to here knows when. Contrarians pick only shallow and what you want is underrated
>>
That riff on when you sleep in unreal. I've never heard anything like it. It's so damn catchy.
>>
>>69652426
>please dont say "wall of sound"
>says "jam sessions" and "emo"
What the fucking fuck is wrong with you?
>>
>>69652426
How the fuck has everyone fallen for it.
>>
>>69656542
I KNOW RIGHT. There's something special about the riff on that song.
