So, quick question. Would Ethereal Wave fall under this or is that more Shugazi-core?

>>69521871
wew that's awful
or is this meant to be ironic
I think it tries to be EBM
>>69521809
One of the cool things about /dark/ music is that is doesn't always sound negative. There is music that is based in the musical tendencies and instrumentation of typical /dark/ music that sounds different in tone. I'd say that new wave led into dark wave, which in turn led to trance and ambient electronica, all which I'd classify as /dark/.
>>69521892
Their older albums are better, but I can't find them on youtube.

the dead shall walk this earth again

>mfw someone posts shit like Blutengel in a /dark/ thread.
Absolute yuck!!!
>>69522790
Maybe he's just new. You gotta start somewhere! I think lots of people start off listenings to some cheesy stuff but eventually delve deeper into the genres.
>>69521831
too dark park might have dark in the title but VIVIsectVI is objectively darker
>>69522790
On that topic, what on earth happened to Auto-Mod?

Reading Sandman comics at the moment: any suggestions for a Goth 1980's soundtrack?

Niceu! any album in particular to start with?
What would he be like today? New Order is still pretty respected today, and arguably didn't fall off as badly as other groups do from their prime. Would Joy Division have a similar fate of reaching more critical success throughout the 80's? Would they have been influenced by dance music as much? Would they be as revered today?
I have been re-listening to a lot Joy Division stuff lately and it just makes me sad how such a talented guy killed himself. He would have contributed to more great stuff undoubtedly. Not to mention that New Order would have benefited from his lyrics.
>>69526754
Surely they would say The Cure since he's designed after Robert Smith
>>69527275
New Order >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Joy Division
>>69527275
I think they still would have at least eventually developed that early New Order sound, but the lyrical content would be darker. I also think he'd eventually break up the band and pursue a solo career.
>>69527548
They would have fired him and then he would have killed himself, he could never have a solo career, he was just a lyricist and the guys in the band never even noticed Joy Division songs had lyrics until after he died
>>69527306
I'm pretty sure that Morpheus is based on Peter Murphy..
>>69526216
Because we were told to teach the class about something from American music so I told 'em about LA deathrock
