this is basically my set up but with a u turn orbit plus instead of a pro ject.

got a cheap knockoff lepai amp coming in the mail, gonna hook that up with a couple of random bookshelf speakers I've got laying around and enjoy acceptable sound quality on the cheap

If you share walls with anyone else's home (apartment, duplex, etc.), you are a complete asshole.

no actually, theres a full amp, including phono, aux, bluetooth, optical, and usb built into the left speaker. i choose to use a preamp on the phono channel instead of the built in one which you can bypass but the built in one sounds pretty good as it is. everything i run through the speakers sounds great. incredibly natural sounding and even. can be a bit bright for rock but i pretty much listen to 100% jazz. i would get a big ass old school set up but i live in a tiny apartment in philly.

side note, the jack ass who rung these up for me at a major electronics chain didnt know how speakers are priced so instead of 500 i paid 250 for them.
