Night on the Sun by Modest Mouse

They're consistently depressing and the song sounds like it's going to be another depressing song but has a God tier transition to this beautiful little tune.
If you can listen to one song listed on here I suggest you listen to this:
https://youtu.be/2ZATq7wEdaE

Also, God Damn the Sun by Swans. When he starts singing "God damn the sun", its heavier than anything else and it's an acoustic song.

Two years ago, me and a close friend of mine dated. One night, me and her snuggled and slept together to this album. Three months ago, she died. While I have some happy memories whenever I listen to the album, I can't help but to instantly cry whenever I listen to it. I especially cry whenever I listen to How to Disappear Completely. I'm like Thom in the chorus, I like to feel that everything isn't happening and that it's not all real. When I last physically saw her eight months, she looked she was okay, but she wasn't. She was secretly hurting. I'm just glad I made her happy during the small life she had.

No sarcasm, thanks for sharing, man. These are the emotional experiences so intense in youth that won't necessary revisit us when we get older. Kid A is an incredibly significant album for so many people in our generation, even for people who have diverged a great deal in musical tastes remember what it felt like to hear Kid A for the first time. Cherish your memory, my friend, and may she rest in peace.

>Hiding

Backstory: Senior year of high school, I was in this relationship that sucked, and while I was trying to get out of that relationship, a friend of mine was trying to get out of a relationship too.

We ended up getting together, and so on. We were both cheating on our SO because we wanted to be with each other. I didn't like the relationship I was in, but I still felt like a piece of shit, sneaking around. Finally, I break up with my girlfriend, expecting to start a fully committed relationship to my friend. She doesn't, and decides to keep dating her boyfriend that she doesn't like.

At the time, I was listening to lots of Modern Baseball, because it made me feel better (blah blah teenage relationships, feeling like shit, etc.). Then when the whole thing fell apart, music was kinda all I had for a while.

Fast forward: Now, both the girl and her boyfriend go to college in the same city as me. I still see her sometimes. Well, the new Modern Baseball album came out, this song really hit me.

The whole A-side is kinda about relationships falling apart, and the last song, "Hiding", is just about picking up the pieces and moving on. It's so stupid, but it kinda felt like the band moved with me emotionally. I wasn't expecting it, and I got real fucking close to crying.

The album as a whole isn't their best, but this song is really close to my heart

tl;DR I got cucked bad, this song helped

Yes I am fun at parties
>>

Couldn't agree more.
The Great Below is insta tears for me. A lot of NIN songs are. The Fragile is also close.
I'd add Zero Sum to that; the raw electronic percussions don't take away the haunting and eminently sad feel on it.
>>
Bon Iver - Holocene

a few years ago when I was a young'n I was just listening to it while trying to sleep and its beauty really hit me

>Rollerskate Skinny - Bell Jars Away (probably even more of their songs)
>Oneohtrix Point Never - Mutant Standard
>Rene Hell - Meta Concrete
Probably a ton that I'm missing but hey, what can you do?
Oh I also started crying when I was listening to a YouTube video of some runescape player talking about keeping himself locked in his room for months and months on end without talking to his parents even. I wish I wasn't such a bad son.
>>
Sorry for talking about the most normie album ever but DSOTM brought me to tears my first listen. It started when TIme came on. I was 15, and it made me realize I'm gonna wake up someday and my youth will be gone. Great Gig in the Sky made me feel even more emotional, and when Money came on that sadness was channeled into anger towards society and wealth. Us and Them depressed me because it made me feel alone since the world is so divided. Finally Brain Damage made me question my sanity, as I had just spent 40 minutes weeping on the floor in a dark room.

I'm telling you, that album was catharsis at it's best.
