i mean most people listen to music but do they really like and enjoy it as an art? its the same idea as most people going to the movies but a small fraction of them actually being film buffs and enjoying them as art.

If you experience actual love, you will understand. Its one of the most intense experiences, and will literally change your life.
10 years ago I thought love was bullshit, all chemicals and pheromones. Now I know better.
Sadly most love songs in popular music are more pastiche love songs, written by people who want to appeal to the ideal of love, rather than people who have actually experienced it.

what I don't get is why so many middle/old aged married artists with kids still write songs about falling in love etc.
