Jeff Buckley
It was just a tragic drowning accident. He wasn't drunk or high, just out for a swim and a boat came by that didn't see him and sucked him under.
>>69387478
It's so ridiculous how talented he and his father were, and how they both died at young ages. At least Tim had a few albums under his belt, but Jeff only had one and an unfinished one.
Shinji
probably due to drinking or drugs but still

in England there is already a teen's rhyme about him; "ol'John Balance lost his balance had a little tumble down, e' smashed his crown and had a lie down never to come back up."
don't know if it's a regional thing but I figure its pretty commonly known
David Lamb (aka Brown Bird)
Dude died like a fucking month after I started getting real into his material, it was a weird bummer. Little sore his material never got much attention, had some pretty fucking songs.

Hide of X-Japan accidentally suffocated himself with a sling he was using to elevate neck and shoulder pain, because he passed out in it. Many musicians who knew him came forward about it being a back decompression thing that a lot of them were using, but the asshole coroner deemed it suicide despite lack of motive or suicide note. There was a rash of fans who committed copy-cat suicides after the coroner's statement.

Woolley died from neck-related injuries after falling off a ladder while retrieving music equipment in his studio.

D. Boon is seriously tragic because right before D. Boon died This Ain't No Picnic started getting MTV airplay and they were just about to crossover to the mainstream.
>>69390847
If it's any consolation, it's pretty unlikely that Minutemen would have had much if any mainstream success if we're looking at similar bands during that era, and that's probably a good thing

I saw Watt play a solo show on Boon's birthday. Someone brought a big sign that was a collage of pictures of Boon and gave it to Watt as the show was ending. Watt cried as the show ended and then a bunch of people in the audience teared up.

first heard "night cruising" a couple of years ago and when it occurred to me that that haunting voice was gone, it really fucked me up for awhile.

Mary Hansen
The drummer who played in Silkworm and his friends.
>MacColl took a holiday in Cozumel, Mexico, with her sons and her partner; musician James Knight. On 18 December 2000 she and her sons went diving at the Chankanaab reef, part of the National Marine Park of Cozumel, in a designated diving area that watercraft were restricted from entering. With the group was a local veteran divemaster; Iván Díaz. As the group were surfacing from a dive, a powerboat moving at high speed entered the restricted area. MacColl saw the boat coming before her sons did; Louis (then 13) was not in its path, but Jamie (then 15) was. She was able to push him out of the way (he sustained minor head and rib injuries) but in doing so she was struck by the boat and died instantly.
Stevie Ray, died in a helicopter accident in bad weather after playing a show with Clapton. Was 35.

This is the saddest one to me.
Marc Bolan, of T.Rex, died in a car crash. He was very influential in creating the glam-rock genre and is best known for his eclectic lyricism.
Beefheart, suffocated with a plastic bag of his head. Really sad
:'(
Razzle, car crash caused by Vince Neil.
He was Hanoi Rocks drummer.
