These are all good bands but Husker du and NoMeansNo pushed punk further than any other band did can are clearly the best imo.
Also for straight up hardcore MDC is the clear answer.

I wish /mu/ would differentiate more between Punk and Hardcore. If we're just talking about hardcore then there's so many more bands to bring into the equation i.e. the whole 90s powerviolence scene as well as emo-core and youth-crew

Anything post-94 isn't worth talking about, but I agree, punk was the groundwork three fast power chord layout that was only around for a couple years before the sex Pistols ruined everything and hardcore, the superior and more creative genre, began.
