how can we live in these nice houses or apartments browsing /mu/ when there are musicians like us out there living in the cold and struggling day to day just to survive? I bet they're good musicians too, but they are poverty ridden and sell their bodies on the streets for guitar strings and synth repairs.

I live in a nice apartment and have a good job which enables me to play in a post-rock side project. Burnout local hipsters at our shows tend to like us more than the 'lifers' who only have music.
It's possible to be normal and still write/play music. It just requires discipline.
