What are some good sources to learn music theory?
I know basic chords and how they work and the such, but I want to go deeper.

"Music theory" beyond the most basic stuff is not important.
I'll tell you what you should do:
- Practice to get as comfortable as possible with your instrument. also, learn to compose from your imagination.
- Learn more about music equipment, learn about varieties of guitars, amps, synthesizers, pedals, microphones, etc
- Learn how to use a DAW

For basic shit?

And if you're mathematically inclined this article on scales and temperament is for you:

Anything deeper than that is useless.

>I'm really comfortable with tubas and the such, but the only composing experience i have is with transposing popular songs to low brass ensembles(I'm in a high school band)
>This is partly where I'm having some difficulty, but I don't THINK this part is important, as I'm mainly into composing with daws and writing sheet music
>I'm about 50% competent with FL, learning as I go, what would be some resources i could use to learn more?

>Tuba
You might be surprised, but I actually used to play some Tuba. my suggestion, maybe you should also learn polyphonic instruments like piano or guitar.

He's right. And definitely learn how to play piano "competently"... you don't have to be that good but being able to think of a chord/scale and play it instantly is important.
Guitar is good but hard to hook up to a DAW, you'll get laid more though.
