I got 3 accounts I was thinking in farming at least 20 but they don't seem to have an ultra autistic staff like what cd had so 3 would be enough
>>
I hope this site sticks around because i've been uploading stuff all day and I have thousands of albums that aren't on there yet. I'm going to be pissed if I upload all this then it gets shut down by tomorrow.
>>
>>69288269
What's the point? Just so you could horde ratio that will be meaningless when the feds shut it down?

Private torrent tracker for people who don't have the patience/equipment to rip vinyl records (and other forms of lossless media) into high quality digital files. Called piracy by some, a library of information by others. Succeeds What.cd, the largest digital library which was destroyed by the French last week.
>>
>>69288118
Haha, normies dont have 320 VBR to FLAC of obscure literal garage band only ten people have ever heard what plebs haha
>>
Shit, I would've joined if I had known. I've got a decent collection of lesser known Russian and Ukrainian music.
>>
>>69286562
I managed to get in in time. I have not and will not uploaded anything.

/marked/
>>
Will there be interviews to get in?
>>
>>69290327
We don't want your dirty slav music.
>>
>>69290465
Probably eventually, they just got a shit ton of what.cd refugees and need to clean up and get everything running smoothly. Give it a few months to stabilize
>>
Will they have an interview system like WCD did? I missed the open sign ups and don't know anyone to give me an invite.
>>
>>69290414

You're not going to be in for that long then, are you?
>>
You think they'll let people in who have proof that they were on What.CD in instead of having to go through an interview?
>>
>>69294542
that will probably only work for power users and up (if they do that)
>>
>>69294542
What sort of proof are you gonna have, a whole list of torrents that exist in your tracker?
>>
Hopefully they start going what.cd levels of autism now that they have the initial userbase established. There's basically no quality control at the moment so it's messy but if they start now things could work out well. Also a name change. Goddamn what were they thinking.
>>
>>69294665
A bit of a userbase purge is probably needed. There's an amazing number of people on the forums wondering why they've been put on ratio watch after downloading 100GB of music and uploading nothing.
>>
why don't u fags just use soulseek instead
>>

Does anyone remover how much what.cd was shilled for being indestructible? And look what happened. How will this new site help that? Keeping music in the hands of a select few, which are most likely not willing to share, doesn't accomplish anything positive in case or another site takedown.
>>
>>69295354
Thanks to What.CD I have thousands of rare albums I am now uploading to this site. If this gets taken down i'll upload it somewhere else.
>>
>>69295429
or you could just upload it to soulseek and sharethreads

This is exactly what I meant. And what exactly is so great about private trackers, give that you actually get an account? What obscure music is available? Noise rock? Underground bands? Classical music? Non English progressive rock?
>>
>>69295354
In case of*
>>
>>69295549
cry more buddy

no one is just going to hand out their rare shit to a bunch of unappreciative children
>>
>>69295549
Private trackers have quality control, by not letting just any random person upload any random thing they want. They ensure there aren't transcodes or low quality albums, which is what sets them apart from SLSK and Public trackers.
>>
>>69287981
>apollo.rip
not fucksacem.rip
>>
>>69295609
yeah keep calling ppl children when all u do is listen to nmh all day
>>
>>69295609
>Can't provide a meaningful response

How surprising...
>>
I am Ravi from Mumbai. I signed up and told my 35 cousins about it. They did the same. Soon we will sell many invites.

Every site should be completely open to the public. It is a great idea.

Thank you.
>>
>>69295549
you also gain ratio which you can use to get requests filled more quickly and use as leverage to get into other trackers

bottom line, it's more advantageous than just uploading it in a sharethread
>>
>>69295702
that worked out for all the what.cd users am i right?
>>
>>69295615
You do realize that you can't hear a difference between a 320 kbps MP3 and flac? This is not just my opinion, this is a scientifically provable fact:
http://www.music.mcgill.ca/~hockman/documents/Pras_presentation2009.pdf
http://www.mcelhearn.com/well-crafted-study-shows-listeners-cannot-distinguish-between-cd-quality-and-high-resolution-music-files/
Apart from high quality audio, no one's actually provided an example of what obscure music you're able to find on private trackers.
>>
>>69295717
yes, considering many used it as a stepping stone to get into ptp and other trackers, in addition to finding stuff that literally doesn't exist anywhere else

but enjoy those sour grapes
>>
>>69295757
post proof of you using ptp :)
>>
>>69295735
>can't hear the difference between 320 & flac
That's well documented, but that isn't the problem. Lossy->lossy/lossless transcodes are everywhere and those do sound like complete shit. Also organisation & seeder retention, What was great for selecting particular master/media you wanted.
In terms of obscure music, I had a few jazz artists I had problems finding certain albums on rutracker, slsk or shareblogs (or was faced with seederless torrents or dead links), and ended up using What for.
>>
If anyone has an invite to any of the new trackers, I'll contribute like a mother fucker. I was elite on what.cd for years and can rent another seedbox out. I have a lot of old records I can upload (niche stuff) and will pop an addies and upload my entire library.

I have PU on PTP, 32pages, and IPT if that helps out at all.
>>
>>69295702
And how does uploading half of your HDD before you're able to download what you actually want benefit you as a user of a single private tracker?
>>69295757
Can you provide some examples of music that you could only download from private trackers?
>>
>>69295978
>>69295995
lmao fuck off xanax is the future, if you didn't get in too bad
>>
>>69295978

>>
>>69296022

I understand elitism on /mu/ but just as someone who loves music just as much as everyone here, why not help us out?
>>
>>69295877
I'm interested in jazz too. Thanks for the example. I guess find English jazz music can be a challenge. Can you provide a source for your claim that lossy transcodes sound bad? I'm aware that music on YouTube, even in full HD, sounds nothing like a 320 kbps MP3 or a flac file, but how do you actually distinguish between the same music download from Rutracker for example an a private music tracker?
>>
>>69296027
Just signed you up for premium BLACKED Tranny porn.
>>
>>69296038
The site hasn't even set up an invite system yet, it's too new.
>>
I got into xanax, but what I am wondering is 1 what do I do if I have a bunch of stuff I downloaded from what.cd but I don't know what type of release it was? (cassette, vinyl, CD, web)? Should I just say it was web for all of them? Also, when I make a torrent to upload to the website, do I make the torrent public or private? And also, what should I do for a description for some of these albums that just don't have a description anywhere?
>>
>>69296135
>>69296135

Like I'm not already signed up, faggot.
>>
>>69296383

this right here is why it will fail.
>>
>>69296383
Just make shit up.
>>
>>69290327
do you have soulseek bc i would love to download that
>>
>>69296383
what format do you have your music library in? if your answer is mp3, then your library isn't worth much to anybody.
