I play the tuba, and I want to get back into playing the trumpet.

Pretty sure not. I play trombone, and every teacher I know tells me that you can't play high unless you're able to play low. Tuba and trumpet are way farther than bass trombone to tenor, but I'm guessing the same principle applies and playing tuba will only make you better at trumpet.

And OP it will not, as long as you practice both regularly, the biggest difference will be the amount of slack each instrument needs. Generally, being able to play the highest one translates well to the lower ones. Trumpet will enchance your tuba if you practice properly.
