The guitar solo is really good, but I think I prefer the vocal improv part on the studio version.

Daft Punk.

There are several bands I can think of who have better live versions of their songs than the studio recordings.
-Any Era Vulgaris song by Queens of the Stone Age is better live. The live versions have more energy and the studio versions are over produced. In particular, I love the live version of Misfit Love.
-Any Noctourniquet song by The Mars Volta. Same as above, better energy and the studio versions are over produced. In addition to that, the live versions break out into jams and just add to the atmosphere. Listen to The Malkin Jewel live as a perfect example.
-Deadbolt by Thrice. I'm not super keen on the song, but the ending is infinitely superior live. Instead of the usual piano outro, they keep it heavy with some intense vocals and it's a much better ending. Similarly, Deadalus is better live because Dustin adds extra vocals to the end that just make the song more emotional. Now that I think about it, all of the songs from the new album are better live because you can hear Teppei's guitar playing a lot better. His leads are mixed way too low on the album.
-Some of David Bowie's 90's material is much better live because it's being played with real dreams instead of a shitty drum machine. (Hallo Space Boy, for example).

Those are just off the top of my head too. There are surely many more.

It really depends on the material.
Some songs' live recordings actually trump their studio counterparts.
Sometimes a live performance is improvised instrumentally and/or vocally, and it sounds more satisfying to somebody's ears.
Sometimes it's not even an improvisation, only the sound quality that'll make it sound satisfactorily different from its original version.
Most artists I've ever heard are unable to emulate their own studio sound while live, much less surpass it, so it's very rare that I prefer a live version over the album one, and even then it's usually only a song, or a few.
