What's supposed to be the difference between "Alternative" and "Pop"?
In the '90s? There was none...

Thought so.
Didn't mean for this thread to come across as a diss on Radiohead. I like OK Computer and I like pop music and I don't see why people pretend they're any different.

Thom Yorke literally said in an interview that OKC was pop music.

Glad to hear he agrees with me! Guess somebody should notify all the guys who tag Radiohead as alternative on various music sites that they're wrong.

Alternative (aka Alt Rock) has actually instruments instead of synthesizers

He also said all he hears is buzzing when he hears other bands.

It's not a pop album. It's an art-rock album.

Alternative music has one writer, one prisoner, and they use ACTUAL instruments and sing about real life
Pop "music" has 10 writers, 6 producers, uses computers to make music by just pushing a button and sing about "love" and partying like an idiot
Alternative can be pop, just like any genre can. Jazz can be pop, Metal can be pop, Country can be pop, ect.
Alternative is just way of describing the 90's rock music that was influenced by punk and counter culture. Just like post-punk was the same thing for the 70's.

I don't care if you are joking or not. On no level of either irony or sincerity are your words worthwhile. Stop posting.

He's right though.
