thoughts? Superior to any beatle's release or simply too different to compare?

The Best album of their career, and Freak Out! is probably second. But holy shit, this record is the pinnacle of psych-rock/pop yet totally rips a hole in it at the same time. Perfect.

We're Only in it for the Money

By The Mothers of Invetion, Frank Zappa's band
I remember Zappa saying that he heard Lennon and McCartney in interviews claiming that they're doing what they're doing solely for money. Can anyone find a source?

interesting, would be interested in that source as well

agreed! thanks for the input

Compositionally? No. Not as good as the beatles individual songs, and it's a bit disappointing that is isn't a giant suite like Absolutely Free.
Thematically, instrumentally, and production-wise? Yes, one of the best albums ever, and a collection of some of the best noises of all time.

>it isn't a giant suite
But it's lit. phase 2 of lumpy gravy

The cryptic ties between Money and Lumpy Gravy are really, really interesting, but still musically, the album would have either been better as a long classical composition with the full orchestra and everything like Absolutely Free, or a collection of baller experimental pop tunes like Freak Out.
