I played a youtube video of the accompaniment to the star spangled banner through my laptop speakers and sang along while recording it on the inbuilt mic. I then played it back while recording it, then did so again and again and again and again and again.

Where can I listen to stuff from this genre?

Does Vocaroo allow you to delete things you upload because that's straight garbage and does not deserve the space it takes.

We're 11 layers deep now
Thought it'd be something like Avin Lucier's I Am Sittin In A Room (which by the way is minimal music).
Yours sound more like harsh noise.
It sounds a bit like The Doors earlier work OP have you tried that

16 layers. The introduction (the sum of the gaps between me hitting record and starting the playback) now lasts for 25s I think, but it's hard to tell as it's just noise until 00:39 when there's just what sounds like morse code. Nothing else really happens, except what sounds like a chord of morse code beeps at 1:25, and some interesting chirping noises in the last 7s. I guess this is because in the original recording I held the last note for a while, without any piano or anything.
