Your line of thinking is not entirely wrong since Scaruffi often doesn't discredit a song for its repetitiveness if the material is good. But for album to get a 9/10, it has to explore a certain range of musical ideas IMO. Simply stretching a high quality song to album-length will not likely score a 9/10 by Scaruffi - perhaps though it could get an 8/10 as we've seen with Ladybird by Shit and Shine.
