How did Avey make this album? First of all, what inspired it, and second of all, what did he use to make all the sound effects? Wasn't he like 17 when he made it?

>what inspired it
Harvey Milk and homosexuality in American politics in general
no joke.
>what inspired it
Childish fantasies driven by drugs
>what did he use
Shitty equipment and a lack of talent
>Wasn't he like 17
Slightly older but you can hear it
inspired by negative feelings of moving away and going to college, which avey hated
feedback loop and busted synths
penny dreadfuls was written at 16 but not the lyrics, they were changed later to fit the album

I think he used a Juno-6 and a Roland SH-2. And also some feedback noise for Untitled.
But all the really high pitched noises are synths
I think he wrote all the songs from ages 17-19, and recorded it with Panda when he was 19, and it's mostly about not wanting to grow up
What makes it so great is the songwriting
