So I think I want to get into vinyl collecting as a hobby, but I have no idea how to shop for record players and such. What do I need and what can you recommend?
Also why are Crosleys shit? I've seen that around here a few times but never bothered to ask
I use an Audio Technica LP-60, it's a pretty nice entry level record player. They'll probably have it at a local record shop or you can get it online for cheaper/more. Also Crosley's are shit if as these records players are about the cost of 2-3 records alone, its not gonna perform as well as an audio technica will.

Thank you so much, anything I should know about building a set up or something?

Not that guy, but you should check if the turntable has a preamp yet because if not you'll have to get a separate one. I'm pretty sure they do though I remember researching them. Get yourself a good pair of speakers, you know around £60-£80 (not sure of exchange rate sorry) and you should be all right. It's best to keep your first set-up kinda minimum and around £200 is a good price for the turntable and speakers, it's what I paid and my set up works out pretty well.
Crosleys are fucking awful because they're built like shit and therefore sound like shit. They can also scratch up your records and they just really overblown in price. I use a Sony LX-300USB and it serves pretty well. You can get most stuff off-line but if you have a local independent shop that does record players then pay them a visit.
Also sort some proper storage space, a shelf will do but records are kinda weak and you want to stack them horizontally like books, not on top of each other.

Both of these tables are just as bad as a Crosley. They are shit and you have no business bitching about Crosley as long as you are using them.

Crosleys literally destroy records. At least the two mentioned don't do that.

Holy fuck dude, they're good starter level turntables. Get your head out of your arse.

What is it that technically makes a Crosley bad?
No counterweight. No anti-skate. Tracks heavy. Built-in preamp.
Both of those other tables have the exact same issues.

Ceramic needles, they will literally destroy your records

Ceramic cartridge, not needle ... hence the "tracks heavy".
