I think it's more the case of Metallica having overall better band members than Megadeth during the early years.
At least, way better chemistry. (until Friedman appeared)
And Hetfield is the better vocalist, but Dave is just a bad vocalist.

Personally think Rust in Peace blows anything Metallica out of the water, and the only argument against it may be Dave's vocals.
Friedman and Dave were so good together.

Powerslave was much better, and is my favorite Dickson era wise. This one was just mediocre. Why is it so highly regarded?

>>68971092
because it has Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills and the title track. people forget that the rest of the album is mediocre as fuck. Run To The Hills itself is also mediocre, I don't know why it's a classic.
>>
>>68971149
Run To The Hills is solid, Hallowed Be Thy Name is quite good and title track is weak, at least for me. I'd say it's probably because Di'anno made them what they became, so it didn't matter if the vocalist or the album were going to be bad or good, they'd be loved regardless.
>>
>>68971165
many fans were pissed about DiAnno leaving and criticised Dickinson's vocals

And yet the album had such wonderful reception. It's a shame Di'Anno couldn't get used to touring, but Dickinson had his moments to be sure.

Di'Anno still has his voice, while Dickinson is garbage and sucks live. IM also got terrible in the last 10-15 years, even Book Of Souls was run of the mill.

I'm having trouble finding an album I saw here maybe a month ago. It was Norwegian black metal recommended when someone mentioned Vampire metal (Necromantia may have been in the discussion).

I think the artist began with a T, and I thought the album was called something like "Pure Black Metal" but I wasn't able to find that or variations, on metal archives.

The cover had the artist's face, which was pale, taking up I think the right 2/3 of the cover.

Any ideas? I'm all out of ideas on what to search next.

Well, first track is pretty mediocre, skipped halfway through
The End is actually decent by their modern standards
Like Sand is absolutely awful, what the hell is with those pre chorus vocals?
The Truth is an entirely different beast, might be the worst In Flames song with legendarily bad intro
In My Room is also decent until the terrible chorus hits
Before I Fall is totally bring, doesn't even have comically bad hook
Through My Eyes is lame attempt at rewriting Take This Life
Title track despite being the shortest is still painful to listen to
Here Until Forever sounds like late Coldplay song, what the fuck is with those backing vocals in the chorus?
Underneath My Skin while not quite as offensive is still quite crappy and forgettable
Wallflower is longest track at 7 minutes, i basically is shittier version of Chosen Pessimist.
Save Me, oh I get it, they became fully self-aware now

Overall 3/10, might be even worse trhan Siren Charms

Like, it's pretty funny that Soilwork used to be considered poor IF clones and now they actually make nice music while In Flames turned into Imagine Dragons
