Is Hendrix really the best guitarist ever? Or is he just a meme musician like Kurt Cobain?
He was among the best at his time and was uncomparably influential for years to come.
I personally think Dick Dale was better at playing but Jimi wrote better songs

Electric Ladyland was revolutionary in terms of its production. It's great, such a unique sound on it. They pull out some crazy noises that are still incredible to hear this day. It also has great songwriting. It's the perfect LSD album.
Anyway, what really made his playing great was his blurring of the lines between rhythm and lead parts. He'd play licks and little solos all throughout a song, even when singing.
If you really want to, listen to Nine to the Universe, which was a take from a 20 minute jam. Probably the best thing i've heard and he did it jamming.
He was a mozart on guitar. But then again he's no Satriani
