In the past week I've learned the Guitar scene is worse than the Audiophile scene.
>"Tone Wood"
>The rarer a tree, the better the sound
>$25 Strings
>Orange Drop Capacitors
>Gold Plating
>Soldered a "weak connection"
>$eymore Dun¢an™
Literally cannot hear the difference in comparison videos.

if you're watching demo/comparison videos on youtube im pretty sure since theyre trying to sell a product that theyll use the best microphones, eq, compression, etc. to make the tone sound more quality than it actually will

an expensive guitar is good not because of it sounding so much better, but because it feels way better to play. A pro could definitely make an entry level guitar sound like an expensive instrument (which is the case in alot of those comparison videos). But i definitely agree the shits ridiculous.

guitar ignoramus checking in
you can actually solder wrong, and the soldered connection will break more easily and may not be able to transfer as much current
pretty unlikely that you'll be able to hear the difference though (apart from sound vs no sound)

Honestly, some of the things the guitar community spews out are correct. Fancy electronics actually do make a huge impact, especially in the studio. If you ask me, the bass community is much worse
>80% are middle aged guys
>real bass players only use fingers
>Jaco only needed 4 strings
>$40 strings
>church band
>also tonewood
>FUCKING CHURCH BAND
>no distortion allowed
Its like the musical equivalent of a cult, I hate interacting with them

Yeah yeah, but all that and that amp to plug it into still costs less than a basic "audiophile" setup.
Also, who the fuck doesnt like rare, exotic, and precious materials that look nice, tone aside?

Don't forget
>mostly niggers
lol that's my guitar
>>68655005
Laughed so hard when this guitar was posted a few days ago.
Still convinced it's somehow really cool though. I'd never sell it, not that you could.

Nah man, those are the jazz/blues guys

story?
>>68655622
>bought a rekt tele
>decided to rebuild it as ghetto as possible
$110 well spent
>>68655005
>soldered a "weak connection"
You do know this is an actual thing right? If you don't put enough solder on then it can cause a dry joint which can cause all sorts of problems. The electronic guts inside the guitar will actually have an impact on the sound if you're using a proper recording set-up.

thinking about making a pickgaurd for it out of this

>Bill Frisell
His music is what stopped me from wanting to play guitar fast.
>Marc Ducret
Seeing him live made me stop giving a shit about gear. Guy had a guitar, a cable and a 1x10 fender combo. He sounded incredible.

Holy shit.
Do it
