Have you ever met a female where you were impressed with their taste in music?

If so, what did they listen to?
>>
Yes. A fucking pornstar.
>>
>>68626863

No.
>>
>>68626863
My girlfriend is the most knowledgable music-wise chick that I know, and she would hardly beat out the description of "new fag" here.

She at least is open to downloading almost all of the music I show her though.

haven't had an offtopic (i.e. not about school/work) conversation with a female that was both longer than a minute or outside my mother in 12 years

Once I met a sexy female student really knowledgeable in classical/avant-garde/jazz: we never speak to each other before that but she made me go in her car because we were late for a common history lesson. I thought it was very suspicious. Should I have made a move???

I have never connected with a female on a deeper level and I don't understand what it means to be in love

Social anxiety is my curse and self sabotage my favorite game
>>
>>68626863
I have yet to even meet a male that impresses me.
>>
My gf liked Joanna Newsom and Sigur Ros before we started talking. I've gotten her into free jazz now. She's the most perfect girl in the world

Other than that, I've gotten a lot of girls into NMH and one girl into TVU&N. My friend's gf who is also a really close friend of mine is into Beach House and skate-punk and knows some pretty good underground stuff

there was a girl about my age at the man or astroman concert but i was too beta to introduce myself
>>
Yes, and I ruined my relationship with her for being an angsty retard. I miss her so fucking much. I've never stayed this torn up for so long.
>>
>>68629075
Sasha Grey is such a laughable tryhard.
Pornstars who try to give their questionable choice of profession a dignified edge by overcompensating for it via trying to look as cultured and intelligent as possible are a joke.
>>
>>68629162
oh geez man, it's not like pornstars are people to.

>>68629162
Or maybe she just enjoys the music.

>>68629214
>>68629202
I'm not saying all pornstars overcompensate in this manner, but it's utterly obvious that Sasha Grey does.

How pleb is this
>>
>>68629257
now I feel like I want to search for actual patrician pornstars
>>
>>68629257
She was in an industrial band, I'm pretty sure that if she really wanted to overcompensate she would not invest that much time in music. Besides what even is the point of determining a celeb's authenticity.
>>
>>68629276
souvlaki is the only one i've heard on here that i'd say is good, but it's great
i'd say you're leaning to the pleb side, but if the albums i haven't heard are good, then you could end up being patrician
>>
>>68627295
fuck yea
>>
I know this really cool girl in my phlebotomy class that's super into industrial and ambient. She talks to me about music all the time. Although she is very quiet and literally said shes not interested in any interaction or relationship and just stays alone in her apartment on her off time. I feel kinda sad, she said shes happy so whatever I guess.
>>
>>68629317
>She was in an industrial band

The guy who formed the band came out and said that she was pretty much in it because she thought it would make her look cool and that he felt like an idiot for letting her exploit him and the band in such a manner.
It was also a really shitty band, but I can't blame her for that as she didn't actually do that much in it.
>>
>>68629401
she's aslo admitted to me that shes super into vore and she hates it, so probably dodged a bullet.
>>
>>68629070
You will get through this, too. Believe me.
>>
>>68627295
only diaper fetish girl from my town is certifiably fucking retarded
>>
>>68629276
out of the ones I've heard:

Future Days - 7/10
Souvlaki - 7/10
Lazer Guided Melodies - 6/10
Laughing Stock - 9/10
Public Strain - 8/10
Innerspeaker - 5/10
Highway 61 revisited - 6.5/10
Hex - 7.5/10
Geogaddi - 7.5/10

I have different tastes definitely but none of these albums are outright bad, some are quite good. I'd give this a passable rating

- Talking Heads
- Ghost B.C.
- David Bowie
- Alexisonfire
- Artic monkeys

No, actually, unless you count seeing girls at shows (although even then they're usually there with guys so it's hard to tell if they actually like the artist in question).

Nope and it's why I've given up on finding girls with good music taste. I'll just take a 5/10 girl who likes me at this point.

I know alot of girls with good music taste, but not a single one with unique taste.

>>68637778
Wow, that's the exact shirt I'm wearing and my appearance. Very scary.

I knew a chick who was obsessed with Jim Morrison, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

She had severe daddy issues though. You could tell because all of her friends were guys and beta orbiters, and plus there was this one kid she was in "love" with platonically for some reason. I'm no Freudian analyst but I'm sure it's because that kid reminded her of her dad.

I used to play in youth orchestras. A random goddess joined the school when I was in 7th grade. She was a cello master, could play anything.

Anyways, ten years have gone by, she's making mad amounts of art, shaved her head and swapped cello for classical guitar. She hit me up on facebook last week. We're probably hanging out next time I visit le hometown. Wish me luck.
>>
>>68638284
Holy shit man, good luck.
>>
>>68638639
Thanks, friend.
Also, just scrolled through her music likes on fb:
Death Grips
Flying Lotus
Pregnant(producer)
Die Antwoord
Soko
The Cure
Ratatat
CocoRosie
Radiohead
Bassnectar
Raconteurs
Joy Division
Pixies
Crystal Castles
Modest Mouse
Earth, Wind, and Fire
Atmosphere
Black Marble
Vurro
Of Montreal
The Kills
Hendrix, Doors, Janis ect.

To name a few
>>
>>68638928
pretty decent, seems like an interesting person honestly
>>
>>68638990
Her uniqueness has intoxicated many a poor soul... what's a good site for sharing mp3s? She recently posted a guitar improv thingy some of you might actually enjoy.
>>
>>68639030
vocaroo maybe?
>>
>>68639097
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1v98peahxP9
>>
my gf listens to.. hm..

The Microphones
Ariel Pink
lots of Velvet Underground
lots of Bowie
she really likes Car Seat Headrest
Titus Andronicus
Why?
Joanna Newsom
Sonic Youth
Talking Heads
The Drones
Jeff Buckley

I like her taste not that it matters that much. I'm glad she's pretty open minded.

She says she likes the music I make but god knows if thats true haha.

>>68639030
Vocaroo is probs the best. Good luck with her. Artsy girls can be really cool and interesting and nice but careful some of them are weird (bad weird) or even worse secretly really boring.
>>
>>68639189
u must really like her cause thats not that good or impressive lol
>>
>>68639286
Who are you favorite artists? I need context for your perspective.
Random raw improv stuff isn't one thing or another. She's playing sloppy on purpose and prioritizing feeling.
This person is a classically trained cellist her cello case itself is probably worth more than any instrument you have assuming you even play.
>>
>>68639405
Nah, second guy here, just listened and it's very bad.
>>
My girlfriend has a pretty decent knowledge of all that shit on bandcamp. She's also pretty interested in our local avant garde scene. Meh.
>>
>>68639189
Can't listen to it because you already took it down but it's alright. Still, by what you say she seems like an interesting person, even if you don't manage to get into a relation with her you should at least become friends.
>>
>>68639834
Yes, I'm looking forward to catching up, we were pretty close in middle school.
>>
>>68639405
haha oh man ok my b i didn't know it was an aesthetic choice to sound like that.

and ur right her instrument case is probably worth more than my instruments but jeez listen to urself "her cello case itself is probably worth more than any instrument you have" sounds like such a douchey thing to say.

My favorite artists are probably Big Blood, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Smog, Yo La Tengo, Tall Dwarfs, Lead Belly, Coil, Otis Redding, etc. etc. I dunno the list could go on for a long time haha
>>
Yeah, my gf.
I met her here.

At the time she was really into Krautrock and RIO.
>>
>>68639933
You have a lot to learn about art if your go-to urge is to be subjectively impressed.

I was just emphasizing her actual musical prowess and yes I'm obviously very into her. Sorry for sounding classist. I'm p poor, too.

I'm really enjoying Big Blood, get down to Nusrat, Love Bill Callahan, Yo La Tengo is one of my Dad's fav groups, I'll look into Tall Dwarfs again, Blues is great, Coil 4sure, oldies are great too.

I'd give you a list but it's honestly a daunting task as I download shit faster than I can internalize names.
