I used to think this when I was 15.
Then one day I realized that behind all the distortion and vibrato tricks, most songs follow pretty simple song structures with regular chords. All the layers obfuscating this are what make this album is so darn great.

I like it they're like love sounds without sounding too soppy

I don't get it. Loveless isn't much more inaccessible than basic-ass alt rock stuff like Dinosaur Jr or even Smashing Pumpkins. How are so many people so mystified by it? It's a very pretty record with a great, dreamy sound. No more no less.
