Whatever happened to Imogen Heap?
I haven't heard her songs since myspace days...

I love her music. Especially her "Speak for yourself" album. She still makes music. She even composed the score/music for the Cursed child live play.
I loved her "I need a hero" cover on the shrek 2 soundtrack but got into her mainly through hearing her sampled in Clams Casino's instrumentals.
I think she is amazing. But I feel she'd be a huge top pop act if she let someone else make "doper" instrumentals for her to sing over.
Apparently she was gonna make a song with Clams Casino but that fell through for some reason/didn't work out.
Speak for yourself feels so modern, even though it was made in 2005

i remember seeing some hype for her a few years back with her creating some sort of midi controller integrated into a bodysuit or gloves or some shit. was supposed to "revolutionize" music. haven't really seen it in practice.
i loved her first couple of records. sucks that hide and seek became a meme thanks to the oc/SNL.
frou frou was tight too. she's not terribly complex, though. not very good for actual conversation.

yeah, i'm god is fucking cool.
i'd be lying if i said i didn't think about sampling several of her songs. i just don't want to come off hacky.

yeah, i've seen the demo-type stuff. i assume she uses it occasionally when she performs, but i'm having a hard time picturing how you fit that into a concert. it seems about as practical as a theramin, but nowhere near as revolutionary.

If you sample her well and do something interesting with it then it isn't hacky
would be cooler to reverse and crop parts, rearrange them and pitch them down/ up etc etc

Nothing new. Susumu Hirasawa did this in the 90s.
