skrillex has been disappointing for around five years now the debut was epic and everything since is not worth your time, he got worse over the years
>>68594811
But they went on to release two albums just as good as their debut and even angles is up there.
it seems a lot of indie bands made insuperable debut albums, look at interpol and arcade fire
>>68594977
arcade fire have put out 3 near perfect albums and one dud IMO (neon bible is a but shit).
>>68594977
Funeral is Arcade Fire's worst album tho
>>68595023
I really like all their albums,to me it's
Funeral>Neon Bible>The Suburbs>Reflektor
But the last it's still a 8/10 imo
>>68595091
why do you think so?
>>68595188
Funeral > reflektor = the suburbs > neon bible.
>>68595188
okay I actually hate fighting about it bc it just completely doesn't do anything for me. I see the appeal but everything they did on it, I think they did much better on Neon Bible and/or The Suburbs. Maybe it'll hit me at some point.

All the early noughties indie bands never lived up to their potential.
>>68594811
only if you think of it that way. everything they released afterwards has been at least good. casablancas is still a brilliant songwriter
>>68594811
I would say Cheap Trick because their debut is their best but In Color, Heaven Tonight, All Shook Up, One on One, Next Position Please, (and to a lesser extent) Dream Police are just different flavors of their brand of dark lyric power pop. Nothing beats their debut and At Budokan though.
Not a band, but Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
He certainly didn't ruin his career or anything afterwards, but TB is really something else from the work he put out afterwards.
