turntablism > trip hop > instrumental hip hop > jazz hop > illbient > gangsta rap > memerap = trap

"jazz hop" is fucking pathetic and is the original memerap genre.

Black people scratch records too.

I used to like turntablism but it got really old desu.
Jazz-hop is fucking atrocious, corny shit 99% of the time.
Trip-Hop is pretty much the same deal as Jazz-hop. There are less than a handful of trip-hop albums that don't make me cringe the whole way through.
Instrumental Hip-Hop is a total mixed bag. Some is great and some is beyond awful, but there's plenty of really worthwhile stuff there.
I don't know what you mean by illbient.
Gangsta rap is mostly pretty solid, but there's a lot of mediocre stuff out there.
Memerap is memerap
Trap is generally consistent if nothing else, and despite its popularity it's actually really fun for the most part and there's some cool stuff happening there right now, though only the cream of the crop trap (Flockaveli, Barter 6, etc.) is gonna hold up in 5+ years.
There's a fuckload more subsets that are more relevant than what your post is about so I don't think you actually care about hip-hop much at all.

>Trap is generally consistent
ahahahahahaha, trap is the worst of them all
>>68592816
When did I say consistent=good?
It's fun, turn your brain off and party with friends music, and most of it consistently delivers on that front.
Like I said, only a few albums will be listenable in 5 years time.

>In September 2014, Swift became a Professor at the New School for Liberal Arts in New York City. He is currently teaching the Dj Skills & Styles course and his research includes Hip Hop History and culture as well as Musical Composition via turntable techniques.
