Why is the loudness war even able to happen? Why would you purposefully make your music sound like AIDs?
Because modern portables don't have the ability to play dynamic music loud enough and it helps it be heard better on the car or bus and most people don't notice.
It's shitty but at least it's steadily improving as vinyl becomes more of a concern and streaming services are implementing volume normalization, which makes brickwalling your album have no advantages.
>put a track from before the 90s on a playlist with songs made during/after the 90s
>have to constantly adjust volume while listening
So is this why vinyl reissues are sometimes lower quality?

Yeah but the thread bumps so it's all good.
cuz Oasis thought it was a good idea to layer a dozen guitars at the same time.

There are multiple factors behind that
>mass scale bootlegging
>major label apathy
>lazy remastering procedures, e.g. mastering from a CD quality master or brickwalled digital remaster
>poor vinyl pressing quality

Ah, thanks. I'll look more into that. It's a shame really
