Damn, punk really is dead

What?
A genre whose foundation is predicated on mindless contrarianism was never really alive.
>>68563236
Damn...
>>68563236
Maybe if you only listen to anarcho-punk
Punk rock in my country came to be as a message against tyranny and dictatorship since good ol' russia censored everything
Punk is a historical fact it isn't a living music anymore

That's fine. But don't conflate a genre of music with a social movement.
>>68563359
Punk was born out of social movement though
>>68563378
what about nihilist punk then?
>>68563417
Also a social movement just like anarchy
>>68563378
yeah dude what about nihilist punk huh? you ever thought of that one?
didn't think so
>>68563378

What kind of logic is that?
Some jazz music is performed on a piano, ergo jazz is an instrument.
>>68563465
It's called a characteristic, you fucking brainlet
Punk still exist, we just call it harsh noise now

t. ken nagayayama
wouldn't the most punkish thing today be to talk about traditional values like family, religion or culture?
I know this doesn't make sense with the musical style of punk, but I'm curious if such thing exists without beeing some dumb nazi shit
>>68563430
nihilist isnt a social movement though
its a philosophy
the raw and unhinged nature of punk fits perfectly with nihilism
>tfw to smart for punk

What kind of punk do you like, OP?
I think you know the popular ones like NOFX, Rancid, Clash, etc so I'm going to give you lesser known ones
1.Choking Victim (just listen to their album. They're awesome. Also check Leftover Crack)
2.Gallows (only listened to Orchestra of Wolves)
3.Teenage Bottlerocket (it's skate-punk)
4.Scattergun (it was a band from Berlin, they broke up in 2004 I think)
5.Nekromantix (If you like Psychobilly)
6.The Distillers
7.The Adicts
That's all I can think of now. As I said, you probably know already the popular ones so it's no use mentioning them

Hey, I'm a pathetic nostalgic who thinks punk peaked with the hardcore stuff from the 80s. Anything new like that?
>>68563784
Well, let me think.
Gallows are kind of like that.
Everyone hates The Casualties, but imo they're ok, even tho they don't change anything in the formula.
The Distillers play a lot of hardcore.
The Dwarves are not new and you probably know them but they are worth mentioning.
The Unseen
A Global Threat

>>68563852
Oh also while talking with somebody I found Cerebral Ballzys which sound like 80s hardcore. You may like them
