I just finished this 90s Hip Hop chart.
What could be added/changed?
Is there any genres I have missed?
What's the best row?
You can never have too much memphis rap.
add Ini - Center of Attention, Pete Rock - Return Of The Mecca, and Smif n Wessun - Dah Shining somewhere at least.
Take out Camp Lo, it isn't essential.

also, good chart, I've been meaning to make one myself
>>68542805
Switch out Jedi Mind Tricks for dalek's Negro Necro Nekros. Nice chart.
>>68542805
imo the best row is boom bap.
Not sure about DJ Screw needing a whole row. Maybe he's super influential and I had no idea. Personally not a fan of memphis rap or dirty south, so props to you for making it through that row.
Would also personally reccomend checking out some of the solo stuff from the people in Wu-Tang if you enjoyed it.
Liquid Swords by GZA is very good, and most of Ghostface's stuff is good too.
RZA is alright, but imo he's a much better producer than rapper.
Also, if you liked the production on Funcrusher Plus, make sure to check out the other stuff El-P has done.
The closest one to Funcrusher would be The Cold Vein by Cannibal Ox. El-P's newer stuff is way more bombastic and high energy than those albums but still very good imo.
There's my thoughts.

Where the fuck is Outkast?
OP here
>>68542922
I am sorry. It's absolutely essential when it comes to 90s hip hop overall. The same goes for UGK. It's just hard to put any of these in this chart
>>68542920
I have listened to everything you speak of and I have it in other essential charts.
Cannibal Ox is 2000s btw
Anyone have a more elaborate Memphis rap chart?
Did anyone else in history ever make chopped & screwed ?
>>68542989
>>68542995
Yeah but not during the 90s
DJ Screw died exactly 2000 and then
people like DJ Michael Watts and OG Ron C started doing it
New update. Decided to add another row
>>68543002
Nice, thanks
>>68543052
You could probably fill that gap in the g-funk row with King Tee
>>68542954
ya i know but it has remnants of that 90's sound on funcrusher that's why i brought it up.
Done
>>68543163
Saved.

thanks man, nice job
I made a small one with "Topic" instead of "Sound". Thoughts?
>>68543463
Straight Outta Compton and It Takes A Nation are both 80s
>>68543488
I know but it's kind of like the definintion of it's genre. The filename kind of ruined it. I am sorry
De la soul is also 80s
>>68543500
ah yeah silly me, forgot about 3 Feet
decent charts though.
Just change Screwed to Houston or Southern and add K-Rino
>>68543515
Houston isn't a genre. The houston rappers have a lot of influences from both Boom Bap and G-Funk. Except for the accent you can't tell that it's texas.
If I had a texas genre UGK, ESG, PSK-13, Ganksta N-I-P, Fat Pat, K-Rino and Lil Keke would be present
