What album did you lose your music virginity to and get started on the path to patrician taste?

Probably OK Computer by Radiohead, it just blew my mind when I first heard it and in result I was seeking out stuff I would have never checked out otherwise.

Funny enough, the first song I heard that was truly patrician was It Took the Night To Believe
It was so....dark. Mysterious. Driving. Apocalyptic. Ethereal.

Aenima by Tool (no image, using school computer)

I was 10 at the time. The best music I'd heard up until then was the Eurythmics, so hearing a dark ambient score blew my mind.

Sugar Ray - Lemonade & Brownies
Skream! by Skream
>lost your virginity to
Nigga I lost it in the back of my mom's fucking sedan. This wasn't some romantic novel where I had time to put an album on and set the mood

This and In The Court Of The Crimson King. But I started collecting music because Iron Maiden. They were my first band I saw live so I started to collect a bunch of Thrash Metal/NWOBHM after that. Once I found out about Godspeed and King Crimson, I started to branch out and try music other than metal and hard rock.

For me either this or Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma. Before hearing those I listened to mostly mainstream hip hop like Kid Cudi and Childish Gambino.

I like this cover
>>68381750
unknown pleasures was the first album that challenged me. i listened to it a lot until i liked it, and it made me able to appreciate a lot more music outside of joy division, and also showed me how to approach listening to things i don't understand. i went from listening to commercial pop stuff in grade 7 to appreciating just about all music and creating my own kind of free-improv musique concrete by the time i hit university.
Blew my fucking mind.
