Why is this album so unappreciated /mu/? IMO it's one of his best.
first track is a 10/10
It's a pleb-filter. It's the only "challenging" Bowie album and it also happens to be his best and only patrician album.

Because it sounds nothing like Low or Heroes, even if it's still pretty good
the songs have pretty weird structures which may put some people off
I think it's better than Low

African night flight top 5 bowie song
ITT contrarians.
face it, it's an embarrassing failure where Bowie & Eno run out of inspiration; both of us kinda repudiated this album in multiple interviews.

It's objectively better than both Heroes and Low though, it's actually experimental pop with no meme ambient b-side.
I've never liked it, always been a turn off. The fact that it's one of the Berlin albums is a cry and shame given that the other two are incredible.
Also, related, on African Night Flight, Bowie goes "Sick of you! Sick of me!" I think Stefan from Death Grips 'ripped' that on I Break Mirrors With My Face In the United States where he says "Spit on you! Spit on me!" with a very similar cadence.
SOMETIMES I FEEL
Low and Heroes have just gotten worse over time to me while Lodger just gets better with every listen.
Lodger is great it just has none of his really standout popular songs, I'm surprised DJ is not more well known it is probably one of his most catchiest songs
I can't get this song out of my head.
