I do enjoy a good piece of chiptune composition while I play my retro games on my emulators (because ONLY OLD GAMES ARE GOOD. fuck why wasn't I born in the 80s). My favourite artists include Toby Fox and Kitsune2, because unlike you faggots I can put aside furfaggotry for the sake of GOOD MUSIC. Besides, the complexity and detail put into chiptune composition is simply amazing, and is much more precise and calculated than ANY music on the radio right now. There is no sound more beautiful to my refined ears.

I like a lot of the soundtracks that were produced for old games, but a lot of independent chiptune releases feel like they're using the bleeps and bloops in place of a specific sonic identity, or to mask less than stellar composition
It's similar to vaporwave in that way, in that there's a lot of trash out there made by someone who cared more about the aesthetic of their album cover than their music

the shitty ones, yeah. but there's a whole scene of artists doing the exact opposite.

E.g. this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TpPFaz1hhI) was composed to run on an NES with no expansion chips, which, whether or not you enjoy the song, is fucking nuts if you pay any attention to its composition and sound design.

And then there's stuff like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkGUCu3A4RA) which was also written to play on an NES has some nuts jazz composition going on even though it was meticulously written note-by-note
