Does anybody else hate it when a big musician pretends to not be self aware about his fame and his impact?
the biggest problem with kanye west is that he only talks about *HIS* efforts, and not the incredible amount of hard work his team provides.
art has always been communal. not taking the time to respect or appreciate the greats around you is a serious problem
duh but he is completely self aware

sometimes? when he chooses to be?
his words never reflect his actions. not to mention there are other rappers/producers currently living that are more talented than Ye, without the obnoxious shit talking.

Kanye contributes more than the other people working. So i'll seem reduntent.

How do you know? There's a fuck ton of people that contribute to his albums.

>and not the incredible amount of hard work his team provides
In actual art practice the person with idea is given the credit, regardless of how many employees carry out the production. Production is craft, the idea is what counts and an idea's communication is what art is about.
How much of Warhol's work did he do himself? A lot more than any of the pre-1900s guys did, since they all typically had their students and apprentices do everything for them.
>art has always been communal
That's just complete bullshit
>not taking the time to respect or appreciate the greats around you is a serious problem
The people around you can do their own thing if they want, you take credit for your own ideas
In terms of Kanye, no idea why he'd even be discussed in an art context since he's just a public figure regurgitating pop music. Your argument shows you know nothing about art at all, though.
Like, if you can't name a living artist you should probably never bring the term up, if you can't name 50 then you shouldn't be speaking with absolutes about it and if you don't know those 50 personally you shouldn't write with so much conviction on the subject.

Does anybody else hate it when someone opposes something beautiful like humility?
I also enjoy the seemingly intentional dichotomous nature of this post.
