what's nirvana's best album?
also, where they actually good or just a mainstream meme?
Went to a show last night of a Nirvana tribute band celebrating the 25th anniversary of Nevermind.
They were good but the crowd was fucking atrocious I swear I was at a shitty meal gig from back when I was a kid
fuck nirvana fans

In Utero
They were good. Kurt was a genius as far as writing simple, memorable melodies goes.
Also, his chord progressions, albeit just powerchords for the most time, were actually quite unique sometimes.
Incesticide, you know I'm fucking right

It has some of their best tracks like Hairspray Queen, Mexican Seafood, Dive and Aneurysm, but is a bit inconsistent. It's the album that shoecases Kurdt's influences the best though.

Big long now is literally the best song in Nirvana's discography

In Utero is undeniably their best

The meme is Bleach but that album is mostly the juvenile rantings of an angry young man set to sub-Melvins punk-metal riffs. Some good tracks on there but it's very much an collection of songs of a young band finding their place.
In Utero is the best album and I love Albini's bare-bones live sound production. I think it could have been even better if Pat Smear had been on it. Following the In Utero tour Kurt has apparently asked Pat to join the band full time as a permanent second guitarist.
Unplugged>Nevermind>In utero>Incestcide>bleach
They were good.
Their best album was In Utero.

>Nevermind > In Utero
Objectively incorrect. In Utero is more consistent, aged better and it's the album where Nirvana really perfected their sound. The perfect balance between the noise rock influences and pop sensibilities. Also has better lyrics for the most part.

I'll deny it.
Bleach is their best.

I didn't know Nirvana tributes were a thing. I would not want to go to one.

>dat bassline on the chorus
I said "for the most part". You're just cherrypicking. Also, can't a band cover certain themes in their songs without being labeled as "edgy"?
