/mu/, do you think that there's an album released in the past few years (2010+) that will be celebrated in the way ITAOTS was?
I.e. an album widely ignored and receives mixed reviews upon release, but subsequently leaves a legacy and a cult following and is later considered a classic
They are a guilty pleasure of mine actually

Nice contribution
>>68311931
Death Grips albums maybe, if they age well
>>68312092
not gonna happen
i think itll be a while until another album like that will be released
>>68312068
ITAOTS main appeal is how is completly ignored every single trend at the time abd did its own autismo thing
Thrse albums were trendy and are already forgotten (they were relevant only because they were trendy)

>>68312033
Hell no
>>68312092
no...
Fight me on it
>>68312917
good album
on the thread topic i there isn't one and i actually hope that the celebrating of ITAOTS goes away
>>68312933
>i there isn't
supposed to say "i hope there isn't"
you don't even need to ask that question

My friend mentioned the same thing in a conversation the other day, something about it's legacy has inspired way too many to try and top it/replicate it that it's grown stale
Is this your opinion, too?
>>68312971
That cover is so bad. What were they thinking?
>>68312999
>My friend mentioned the same thing in a conversation the other day, something about it's legacy has inspired way too many to try and top it/replicate it that it's grown stale
that sounds about right
it's like with post-rock how the first and second wave stuff took a variety of influences into it's music whereas the third wave is just people copying the second wave
>>68313070
>copying the second wave
or copying godspeed to be more specific
>>68313027
I'm not a fan of Arctic Monkeys by any means, but I like the album cover.
Arctic Monkeys = A.M.
Amplitude Modulation = A.M.
It's a picture of Amplitude Modulation, with two peaks, which theoretically is what an amplitude modulated signal would look like if you said "Arctic Monkeys". And it looks like a bra maybe? I dunno. Get into basic electronics theory, nigga.

Are you retarded? The squiggles in the middle say AM.
this
>>68313312
it's not even that good to be honest, i don't think it will ever be considered a classic.
now pic related however, that's a different story
>>68312971
popular album, but fucking trash
>>68312917
literally the only album in this thread that meets any of the criteria posted
>>68313578
that's already popular now and was met with positive reviews
and god i reallly realllllly hope not the last thing we need is more homemade lofi indie bullshit
>>68313467
This album was the true pioneer of vaporwave, Floral Shoppe just made it a meme among 15 year old kids
I know it's going to happen
Definitely an album that grows on you. Impossible soul is mindblowing.
99% of the albums in this thread are already positively received.
Not in the exact same way, since music is received differently now with the internet. Critics aren't as strong as they used to be.

This is a really good contender though. Considered by most to be a good Sufjan album when it's amazing.
>>68313608
Kill yourself, that album is a masterpiece.
yeezus
>>68315279
So was ITAOTS, it was immediately embraced by fans of indie rock. Nobody who listened to indie music at the time was ignoring it.
>>68315407
Yeah I think most people prefer Illinoise over Age of Adz
