Sup, /mu/.
I have the ambition to make an album with my own music, but I don't want it to be generic. It's a personal project, I have no intention of becoming famous.
I'm writing some songs, but I have no idea how to enter letters on them.
I already have some ready to melodies with consistent solos and good riffs. But every time I sing, it seems kind strange, unnatural.
Also refuse sing about standard themes as girls, passion/love, oppressive capitalism, enjoying life, etc.
I want it to be as original as possible and the letter clearly as well.
Sorry for the bad english, it's not my mother language.

Do you want to sing? Maybe you could get someone else to sing.

So basically, what you're saying is that you want to be creative, but you have no creativity. Nice.
What artists are you inspired by?

This is not the problem. But, I could do it as well. My voice is good. I don`t mind to sing or not, but I don`t know many fellas that would sing in band.

I focus more in aesthetics (scales, riffs, solos, rhythm, etc.)
I know it`s kind meh but I inspire in Steve Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, SOAD, Metallica, Slash, Queen, Os Mutantes, Ronnie Von, Led Zepplin, Plink Floyd.
I like the guitars.
BUMP.

You're not going to make original music. At all.

This is the normie music I listen everyday.
I listen every kind of music like punk, stoner metal, progressive rock, indeie, samba, rap.
The last album I listened was Chinese Football (10 out of 10).
But I want to make a classic rock album, so I will focus only one genre.
I coud list some Brazilian Albuns for you if you want it.

The only way to get good at composition is to work hard and push yourself to be more creative. It'll take a long time of making shit music before you can actually make anything good but it's worth the effort.

if you're going to make a classic rock album in 2016 it will inherently be generic
>>68191412
>i listen to a bunch of similar western guitar music
>in 2016
Yes, you will definately do something original with your guitar, you're a singer-songwriter genius!

Ok, I think it's time to rethink my work.
But could you help my with the lyrics?
>>68191489
Write music you WANT to write. Sing how you WANT to sing. Be thoughtful and intuitive about how other people make music and why, as well as of different types of music.
>>68191412
I will mix rock with samba. I didn't metion that.
I'm from Brazil.
I didn't list brazilian bands cause I think you wouldn't recogonize
List of them: Os mutantes, Ronnie Von, Rita lee, Raimundos, Belchior, Elis Regina, Titãs, Siba, Tom Zé, Selvagens à procura da lei, Vespas mandarinas, Cachorro grande, etc.

How easily you fell for the
>"tell me an artist you listen to?
> lists whatever
>oooohh look at Mr creativity
meme. I'd do lyrics like this: the voice is another instrument, give your music some space for another voice. Let's say you start, you have drums, guitar, bass and keys. Grab the instrument you're most comfortable with and add a lead of it. Those will be the notes you'll be singing.
Write whatever bullshit your song is about and only care about words when the phrase and your notes can't sync up.
I wouldn't have verses already prepared, just single words/basic phrases that you want to add and work from there.
If you get good you could do shitty lyrics like U2 's Elevation that people wanna sing to. Also remember to use, at first, notes that are easy to sing then work from there
