I feel you, OP. I tend to want to listen to more straight forward hooky kind of stuff when I'm sober a lot of the time - though there are exceptions to that; but when I'm stoned I can listen to any style of jazz or ambient or generally more "difficult" music for hours on end.

I wish the insight I had when high would completely carry over to my sober listening.

how much time do you spend on 4chan? do you mostly lurk or post a lot?

how much time do you spend on youtube?

do you often read new articles or similiar online?

how often do you read? do you read 50, 100, 200+ pages in one sitting?

do you work out? do you have any creative outlet?

finally: how often do you smoke and at what time of the day does it usually start?

I smoked every single day for bout a year or two. Couldn't enjoy any movie or series without weed.

you need new friends. not telling you to drop your friends or anything, but go out and find new ones.

I had the craziest luck of growing up in a remote village (15-000 people) and finding two friends at an early age who not only accepted, but embraced my taste in music and cinema.

I can listen to everything from Lustmord to Captain Beefheart, from Sun City Girls to Sunn O)))..

Few things come close to the experience of turning off the lights entirely, putting on Swans and passing around the bong in a complete dark, silent room. Like a ritual.

You're the supplier it shouldn't even be hard. Go to a concert of your favorite artist and try to find like-minded people. It'll completely turn your life around. Being able to share music has improved my listening experience tenfold.

Currently doing nofap so I don't watch any porn. I don't spend anytime on 4chan except last few days when I started getting high by myself coz I got left some weed.

I can read a lot, and currently reading two books.
I don't work out but I wanna go to the gym next week.

I also closed my Facebook so I have more time for myself and removed every social media app.

quitting weed was impossible for me so when I moved out of my parents house I just set a rule not to smoke at all anymore, only whenever I got back to see my friends.

it worked wonders for me, but I assume you alrdy do live alone, so that is not an option. truth is I know no way as to how I could restrict myself from smoking when I constantly had weed lying around.

the best thing for you to do is to take a tolerance break, but ofc that is easier said than done. honestly, some things just aren't done alone.

if I were you, I'd ask a good friends to assist. someone you can trust.
