>In August 17, 1959, Miles Davis released Kind of Blue
>In February 1965, John Coltrane released A Love Supreme
>In May 21, 1971, Marvin Gaye released What's Going On
>In November 20, 1971, Sly & the Family Stone released There's a Riot Goin' On
Guess which black artist's album is going to make black music history along with these musical greats?
A Love Supreme doesn't really compare to any of the other albums you mentioned. Also it's hilarious to think an album made about black people for white people is going to be anything special.
How does this not count? Widespread acclaim across the board.
Epic trolling brah, I'm really mad right now kek
there are many important albums, doesn't mean they're good. the fact that you're serious about placing that above average radio pop rap among those great albums makes you're opinions invalid
Why not both?
Also, you're all forgetting
>Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady
>Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
>OutKast - Aquemini
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is to step outside the fortress and meet the neighbors. West broke the ground upon which the new decade’s most brilliant architects built their masterworks; Bon Iver, Take Care, Channel Orange, and good kid, m.A.A.d city don’t exist without the blueprint of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
>Bon Iver doesn't exist without the blueprint of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Really? Please explain in detail how Bon Iver, a folk musician, is deeply indebted to a hip hop record which was released three years after his own debut album and heavily sampled his music. Please do the same with Channel Orange and good kid
What does this sentence even mean? Whoever is enjoying this album simply because he thinks it's sophisticated, merely for the fact it's jazz influenced, is just as much of a wash-up as the opposite side of the spectrum which is elitist in its conviction that the album is a pretentious mess and has nothing to ever.
The funk layering on this album is incredible. The production is some of the smoothest and best (grimey at times even) you will ever hear. Anyone who enjoys funk, r&b, remnants of soul, jazz, hip hop should be honest with himself and remove all external nonsense hogwash trying to label music and base their lifestyle on the acceptance of other people.
This is a very kinky album. I summarise that people who don't enjoy it have never fucked a woman to a Marvin Gaye song.
white woman are relevant to the afrocentrism of a black man. A lot of black panthers were in interracial relationships, it's a means of gaining dominance over the white man by taking their women.
why is it better?
what does MBDTF do that is so great besides sound cool? It's an awesome record, howeverit doesn't really do anything new, just sound cool, and grand. Everything on that album already had been done in his own discography.
I feel like people worship Kanye when all he does anymore is make cool music, not actually anything inventive.
I agree with you about TPaB but you're a literal retard if you think that Kanye has done anything afrocentric.
It's all "black music for white people"
pic related, white people cucking it up for Kendrick's new album
None, because music just isn't an important part of popular culture in this age of mass media consumption.
Those musicians were significant, because music was one of few forms of accesible entertainment in those days.
Damn nig, you're dark. I stay inside most of the time so I'm not all kunta kinte dipped in oil black kike you
I'm not really genetically light skinned like drake or something. I just don't go out in the sun too often.
I'm the lightest in my family and my dad and sister are dark as fuck.
It's probably the flash that makes me look that light tbh, but I couldn't be fucked to turn on my light
Why the fuck am i defending myself? Nobody likes dark nigs anyway, light masterrace. White people won't be threatened by me when the see me waking down the street
Are you retarded?
Nearly every single rap album talks about race. And his fame shouldn't make what he's saying more important, especially because Kendrick is half-assed about it
>jk i'm a hypocrite
Stop spouting things that you don't udnerstand
holy shit did the stans from HHH and KTT invade again? Sorry this is shit. Everything Death Grapes and even Kanye's shit knocks harder than this boring, generic, pretentious, derivative bullshit. Aint a bad album but not above an 8 under any circumstance. Though it's way more afrocentric, but MBDTF is infinitely better.
what's the fucking point? kob and love supreme have nothing to do with the other two albums. they're different in every way and comparing them only because it's made by black artists is fucking retarded.
