Usually we have a western art thread every now and then in /pol/. It might be different but id like to try one with good art from the great civilizations.
Pony posters it might be exclusionary for you but this is a comfy place where we appreciate some of the best that man has to offer.

Ching Chang Chong. I'm not sure if you white nationalists enjoy non-white art but this is a famous piece from a thousand years ago. It's also really interesting to compare the art style of different civilisations. I'll try and Google up some Renaissance period art from China cause that was when you white people started having culture post-romans.

/ic/ here. I am /ic/ more than I am /mlp/. I hope you die a very violent death. I swear this on the very fibre of my being.
It's a bit different from what I think the general feel of the thread is, but in my opinion this is a combination of two great western works of art.
For any none /pol/lacks here the art of this thread is what we are trying to protect. We do not want a horde of Islam and shitskins destroying this and banning all art. We just want to preserve the best qualities of man kind so that we can progress further into the stars.
We may not see eye to eye but know that they will come for you the same.
This is the comfiest I've been since the monthly Equestrian landscapes thread on /mlp/. I never thought I would be posting side by side with /pol/acks and horsefuckers. Its a special kind of feel isn't it /mlpol/?
Islam must be destroyed
In commemoration of yesterday.
Remember the Jew in this story? And the Jew's Jewish wizard master.
The Hobbit was such a fucking good childhood book. My god.
>>173557
Yes I remember well. Keep at it, I need a larger Tolkien folder.
Daily reminder
Gray ships pass into the west.
>>173578
Notice how the Lord of the Rings movies were good but with the influx of cultural marxism and greedy Hollywood jews they fucked up the Hobbit Movies.
OP, great is subjective and I think that whether or not the East Asian civilisation was on par with western Europe should be a discussion we should have by comparing artstyles this time. Not looking to get into an argument, done plenty of that with whites and even Indian nationalists.
Here's one I found, it's the same one from my local Chinese restaurant.
>>173491
>tfw training and my best to be able to stand next to the old masters proudly
The state of art nowadays disgusts me deeply. I cannot even put into words how much I loathe the disgrace the entire craft has suffered. I swear I just lose it whenever I see some absolute bullshit like 'piss christ' be called art. I understand your cause completely and I wholeheartedly support it.
>pic one of my studies
>>172997
Is there any modern work of this style? Fir example, Any world war, cold war era?
>>173599
Doing's God's work, anon. They could use you in the drawthread
Alan Lee was able to portray many things from the book nearly exactly as I had imagined them. Orthanc for example, was a portrayal of his that was perfect. Dark, hard, and a childish imitation of the real dark tower.
>>173599
Those digits are a blessing, you are a vital asset.
>>173595
They fucked it, and I hate them for it.
>>173597
Yes it is. I prefer the west but I appreciate places like Japan, ancient China.
The middle east was great before islam or Christians were around. Look at Persia for example, while we in the west look at the war against Xerxes as defending from the barbarians in reality they were very civilized.
A fantastic imagination on that lad, his depiction of Fangorn is amazing.
And the western culture of the Rohirrim.
Also, Âżis there any Art redpill? Âż Where should a complete uneducated fag like me start with art? Âżwhat should i avoid?

>>173743

>>173737
Look for something you like, but refine your taste to include mostly quality stuff. Also be very careful with anything the Jew has touched.
For example, I really like fantasy stuff, so a shit taste of mine would be to post some crappy anime art. I've kinda matured past that and I can now really appreciate the art of Alan Lee and John Howe. Two of the early illustrators for the Lord of the Rings books and also concept artist for the movies.
Take this fantastic sketch of Gandalf fighting the Balrog.
Keep em coming in boys.
>>173766
I'm going to post some stuff from John Howe next.
>>173737
I honestly am a total scrub. Just take what you see here as example. If you go to a museum, compare the modern and post modern stuff to anything classical. The modern (((art))) is all trying to be special snowflakes and look for some stupid meaning when all they have to do is perfect their craft and apply it.
>>173737
Learning to draw? If you're an absolute beginner, like you can't draw something simple like say, a spoon, go to /ic/'s sticky and their beginner general resource list.
If you can say you are decent, ctrlpaint.com
Here, something from /mlp/
>what should i avoid
Art school. If there is one thing to avoid, that would be it. Unless you are swimming in cash and don't mind burning through the time it takes to study there. Self study every chance you get, all the way.
>>173791
I remember reading a post in /pol/, which explains that jewish art, in contrast to normal art, uses morbid and desfigurated expressions, so i guess i should avoid that. And i don't have any "likes" or dislikes for now, thanks
>>173811
This is clearly an example of skill with feeling and heart. This is great, now ask yourself, would this come from an Islamic world or some barbarous tribe?
>>173737
If you're looking for pretty pictures to look at, I would assume you're /pol/ so my suggestions would be leyndecker, sargent, and rockwell.
Here's a little pony.
Along with a Black Rider. A cruel burden for that pony to bear, I fear.
>>173843
Not really learning to draw, but rather "looking" at art and understanding its meaning and history.
>>173848
For me in a lot of these paintings I like ones that give me a sense of home and make me feel warm inside. It could be corny to an outsider sometime but those are my favorite.
>>173891
Theyre just bringing a little balance to the world as malkor wished.
I love the atmosphere in this drawing. The light is beautiful.
While we're at it here are some redpills to watch with art.

>>174075
I like this one a lot, as my dad is a pilot.
>>174075
Works of JC Leyendecker
anything of Charlemagne
This one's by John Singer Sargent. At high resolution. If you take the time to look at it thoroughly, you get an appreciation of just how many tedious brushstrokes a painting has. And the thing is with old timey paintings, paint would pile up. That is important because the painter would have to be very mindful of how many brushstrokes he uses which shows an absolute mastery of the craft. Even if I use it more often, digital painting in which there's stuff like undo so you can be more wishy washy about it so there's less skill considered than you would traditional paint.
>>173984
>>174022
keep it up horsefuckers these are good.
This is (in my opinion) Norman Rockwell's most iconic work.
Which is a shame considering how there's a good possibility that that scene may never exist again.

On /mlp/ we sometimes get threads called something like "Equestrian landscapes and other worthy fanarts". Sometimes there's very fine stuff in there.
Although, looking at this thread the much more vibrant, dare I say technicolor themes might stand out.
I'll post a few highlights. I'll stop if you don't deem it fitting.
>>173984
You know what this reminds me of Princess Mononoke and the night walker.
>>174623
>>174655
These are just fine, they give a good feeling. Not quit the same level of craft but that's to be expected with different technologies.
>>174697
It seems that in the age of graphical design and computer-based art so few people use actual paint anymore - and most of those who do have little ambition left in them.
>>174475
Nope. That painting is a painting inside of another painting, both of which could standalone and still be beautiful. That applies to all the painting in there. Add those all up, and you get that masterpiece.
>>174475
they're the same
>>174766
The world cant stay the same forever but it doesnt mean we should abandon tradition and quality.
>>174766
That's probably a product of a changing market. Digital mediums allow for a wider audience
>>174724
>>173984
Much of the best art and fiction in the /mlp/ fandom revolves around Trixie Lulamoon undergoing a Hero's Journey. Even after her second and third appearances filled in some previously open design space, her character leaves so much to work with.
>>174836
We should cherish the achievements of old all the more for it, as the same conditions no longer apply, and in turn outcomes possible at the time are now much less likely.
>>174870
And are much simpler to use, most importantly, more forgiving. A mistake done in photoshop can hardly live up to a mistake done on canvas. Only one of those is easily reversible.
About the wider audience it's not as important, since it's not too hard to turn physical art into digital format with a simple photo or a scan of the original.

The thing I truly love about Asian art is that I am looking at an entirely different way of thinking, feeling, and generally interpreting your senses
You can see how it was a different type of mind that created that compared to European art
I am European, I feel like I understand it and know it better seeing European art and statues, but I'm always very happy to see anything that is sort of a physical representation of different minds
