There was a random official book a while back that was talking about Fluttershy's sanctuary before the episode aired. It referenced something to do with Starlight Glimmer's mysterious past. I could see them going the route of making it seem like Twilight is the descendant of Starswirl but making a twist where it's actually Starlight.
