This, so much. No other trio in the show balances each other quite so well while adding differences to the mix the way these three do.

They would be amazing on adventures. A short version of it:
Ember - intimation, warrior mindset, fast flier
Spike - better at seeing through shit, most practical, intent and message system with fire breath
Thorax - biggest heart, infiltration, best adaption

Ember and Thorax balances each other's greatest weaknesses, Spike pulls them together and moves them forward, either Ember and Thorax can account for Spike physical limitations.
