I really think they squandered The Mane Attraction with bad storyboarding. it felt so awkward with everything taking place outside and the manager just blatantly walking aorund next to Coloratura. It would have been so cool if he was like a puppetmaster working behind the scenes in the shadows. They also needed a much better way to bust him than breaking the immersion with freaking magic recordings. I was pretty hyped for The Magic Inside when the storyboard came out but the final animation was kind of meh.

It's similar, but the tone and message are completely different.
"Try Everything" was far more upbeat, and the message was about not giving up even when you fail, when things get tough, which was part of Zootopia's overall message.
If we can judge the MLP Movie's message based on Rainbow, then the movie is about how people grow and change after dealing with trauma. Rainbow isn't a fun, bouncy song like Try Everything, not at all. And it fits the movie perfectly. Twilight's mentors are captured, her home is destroyed, and she and her friends are forced to flee to the very edges of the world, only for the one force that could've helped them save Equestria deny them. Tempest lost her home, her friends, her name, and her horn, and had to turn on Equestria in order to get what she wanted, handing the keys to the end of the world to the Storm King, and for the one thing he promised her, he turned his back on her.
