To those of you with severe social anxiety, how do you plan on going to the movie?
Personally, I am going to wear a suit and bring a clipboard with me. That way I pretend to look like movie reviewer

>>
should going to the cinema for what you like worth of social anxiety?
I mean,I have had anxiety for the university(finals) but never social ones in terms of going to a cinema

I don't know if the reputation matters all that much over there, but where I live, many don't give two fucks about it

even if they point it out at you without the intention to draw attention,it shouldn't cause any anxiety.Acting like natural or going with someone you trust is enough to stay safe or at least, forget for the most part that mentality
>>
i'm going to jerk off in the back row i might even bring my bad dragon mary to use during the loud parts of the movie

Same here, my man. Ponies are the best thing we've had to bond over, she often comes home with some cute pone merch or asks if I've seen some upcoming brushable sets, etc.

We've planned to go full ham and get popcorn and the works, so i'm super excited for once. I don't even care if people laugh, honestly she motivates me to leave the house and she's a godsend.

>mfw today she bought me a tempest storm figure while we were out shopping

I bought her dinner though. good times.

If you're nervous and want to see if another Anon may be nearby to see the movie with then putting a marker here wouldn't hurt.

https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=2638359

Not very populated now, but hopefully that will change as the movie gets closer to coming out. I know I'd love to keep local Anons company if they'd otherwise not go and see it.
>>
>>30934610
I feel like going with some random person would just make it more awkward
>>
>>30934846

Probably, but then at least you have something to blame the awkwardness on instead of just your own social incompetence.
>>
What are people even anxious about? Just go alone and who cares?
>>
>>30934043
Trying too hard OP. Just look like you really don't want to be there when buying the ticket, and if anyone asks say it's for a movie review for a website (have a fake website prepared for if they ask).

Personally, I'm just gonna buy a ticket to Blade Runner and just go into MLP instead.
>>
>>30934949
Who

Cares?

Just be a man, be confident and not insecure, and buy the MLP ticket like a man. Maud is autistic and would she give a damn? No. She'd just watch MLP.

Also, buying the ticket for a different movie doesn't support the movie.
>>
>>30934975
>Also, buying the ticket for a different movie doesn't support the movie.

You could buy a ticket for both movies, pretending the pony one is for someone else, and only giving the ticket taker the Blade Runner one. It'll cost double but it covers you and supports the movie.
>>
>>30934998
or you could walk into the theatre with a pinkie pie plushy in hand and a pony t-shirt and ask for a my little pony ticket like a fucking man
>>
>>30935014
Or just dress like a normal person and buy the ticket with the same confidence you would have buying a ticket for Blade Runner, because who gives a fuck?
>>
>>30935026 I mean, seriously. If it's a good movie, it's a good movie.

Women can buy tickets to Blade Runner and no-one cares. Watch what you like and screw what ignorant people might think; they're strangers you'll never see again.
>>
>>30935014
>>30935026
>having confidence

What are you people even doing here? Should be out fucking girls and driving cars or something?
>>
>>30935053
Confidence means not caring what other people think; it comes with maturity.
>>
>>30935063
Again, if you have that, why are you here? To taunt us?
>>
>>30934846
You wouldn't be going with some random person. You'd be going with someone that was also from /mlp/. There's known common interests. That's how strangers meet, anon. And since they'd probably live in the same area as you, you meet even get a horsefucker friend so that you don't have to freak out about how to solo horse.
>>
>>30934935
Im glad you're confident, anon. But not everyone is like you
>>
If you're really nervous about going alone, then just pretend you don't want to be there, and are only going to meet somebod already inside. If you're mid-20's or beyond, your wife and kid are in there. If you're low-20's or teens, your kid sister is in there. If you're younger than that, you have nothing to worry about, and get off the board. And if you're outright elderly, you should no longer give a fuck, and I demand you sperg out as loudly as possible, screaming about how Pinkie Pie makes you remember how life felt before the war.

How about you just don't give a fuck about what normals think? They're too busy sucking off all the celebrities on TV and just doing general normie shit.

Go in there with your Derpy shirt on, look the acne ridden 19 year old movie theater cashier right in the eyes and say: "Can I get 1 ticket for the My Little Pony please? I want to masturbate to this later.

Then walk in and enjoy the show.

Was that so fucking hard?

Maud is female.
If a parent sees a dude sitting alone for a kids film, they'll assume the worst. They don't know you, they don't care, you're a man and that makes you dangerous.

It just so fucking cringeworthy and embarrassing.

>how do you plan on going to the movie
By putting on clothes that I would watch to any other movie, go to the theatre like any other movie, buy some snacks and drinks like any other movie, and buy a ticket like any other movie. Anon, nobody gives a shit about what movie you purchased. That's all in your head, and nobody could give a fuck.

You know what the person behind you in line is going to think when you say "I'd like a ticket for the MLP Movie"
>I hope Dunkirk is going to be good, I heard the pilot has a cool scene at the end.

You know what the person who is going to vend your ticket is going to think when you buy the ticket?
>Ok.1 ticket(s) for X movie that's in Theatre Y. Fuck I wanna go home...

You know what the person behind you is going to think when you're walking into the theatre to sit down?
>I hope there's still a good seat left, do I have enough snacks?

I'm not going to say "Just have confidence just cuz so you can brave through the meanieheads who will make fun of me and judge me reeeee" because that's a load of shit. So what I will say is that literally nobody gives a shit what you're going to watch. Strangers don't care about what movie you're going to see. Nobody's looking at you, nobody's paying attention to you, nobody gives a fuck about some random dude just watching some movie, in a building of hundreds of people just watching some movie. They couldn't give a shit about you honestly. Buying a ticket for a movie is no big deal, so just buy a ticket like its any other movie, and that's exactly what it will be. Just buying a ticket for a movie.

Anon, please don't let social anxiety ruin what could be an amazing experience for you.
The first true MLP movie in theatres should not be made less fun by something that is just in your head. Please go, and please enjoy yourself.
>>
I will say to anyone more flustered by getting the ticket rather than just going, I'd look for any theaters that support fandango, order online, print in the theater, simple.
>>
>>30937510
That is not the problem. The problem is that the last time I spoke to someone that wasn't my mother in person was, literally, a year and half ago. The last time I was in a move theater was when I was fifteen or so, and it was a family member's birthday. I have no idea what the fuck I'm supposed to do. I'm more worried about missing the movie because I can't find the fucking theater I'm supposed to go into and/or being laughed at for bumbling around like a retard looking for it. How do I buy things from people again? I'm not sure.
>>
>>30937579

Wanna hear some fucked up shit? I've been going to cartoon movies alone since 2002 (Lilo and Stich in high school, yeah I'm old) and for some reason I feel uncomfortable about seeing this movie by myself just because it is "My Little Pony". The weirdest part is I don't even know why. And to make it even more fucked up I have multiple friends that are horsefuckers, but I can't build up enough balls to ask them to see the movie with me. Maybe I'm falling back into my anxious self from before high school - if that's true I don't even wanna think about this shit.

I need to send Seth a mail, there are also a couple German theatres showing the original version on the 1st already (one of which I'll probably go too even though it means I'll have to travel because I'm certainly not watching the dub the first time) as well as in general a shitload of theatres showing the dub on the 1st already, not just the few mentioned in that article.

That is kind of amazing honestly. How do you have so little social interaction. How can you go a year without talking to people. Do you have like a diagnosed disorder, or are you "just" an unspecified magnitude of weird.

Dang. I'm still uncomfortable at the thought of being the only lone grown-ass man in the theatre full of 7-year-old girls and their parents, but maybe I should just go anyway.

So far it looks like theatres near me will only be showing the regional dub, which is unfortunate. I really want to see ponies on the big screen, though.

>>
>>30944352
The only time I've talked about pony with someone IRL was my nine-year-old neighbor who had a Pinkie plush. I tactfully just asked questions as if I had never watched MLP, who Pinkie Pie was and why she liked and what the show was about, to hear her perspective. It was cute.
