Season 2 was only marginally better than 3-7, but it had the advantage of every concept still being new and interesting so you could ignore the flaws. This is a big reason why there's so many EQG fags still around. EQG still has a lot of unexplored possibilities due to just having a few movies and shallow shorts. As soon as Season 1 of the EQG series expends the initial feeling of newness, it'll start to be hated just as much as the first movie was.

Be it the minority or not, the Anons that fly off the handle at each other over Starlight, the show after S1/S2, or whatever seem to have made Anons a lot less likely to want to talk about the show on /mlp/ now. There's love for it given the polls, but talk on it feels down cause no one wants to try and out talk the shit flung around shortly after good discussion starts. At least that's my guess. Off board there's nearly no chance of the Anons holed up in here noticing. That makes the discussion pure and explosive cause it's a unique set of opinions since it's usually surprisingly from Anons of that board and not /mlp/. Novelty of discussing pony off board probably contributes too, but the fact of the matter is that /mlp/ is becoming increasingly /v/ with ponies. Positive opinions are quiet cause the negative ones are making the feel it's not worth it to talk. Not to say the negative opinions should leave since they do have a place in here, but I think all the positive Anons just don't feel it worth the effort to weather it anymore and either leave or shut up. Net result is that /mlp/ appears to hate the show, movie, franchise, and everything involved in it when the polls can, and often times, do paint a different picture.
