It's the other way around. S1 is more like 3-5/10 zone, with most episodes being average to mediocre, while later seasons like S4 and onwards being solid (6-9s/10) zone, with most episodes being above average to amazing.

Yea the show gets much better after this. Just stick it out until season 5 when SG is introduced. The plots are much more rooted in the central theme and the characters have more unique development. Overall, everything is more balanced and glimmer gets more screentime because by now we know the mane 6's character development has been fully fleshed out and they are all dead end characters.

While I'll concede the show is still good, the rest of you're post is a little far fetched.

Glimmer is certainly going to spice things up and I love watching her interact with the cast, but to say that the mane 6 are done is silly.

They may have "achieved their goals" so to speak, but there's still a lot more to explore inside of that.

(But hell, if glimmer turns bug butt into a recurring character you can say whatever the fuck you want.)

Don't forget the CMC becoming significantly better in the later seasons as well, their development becomes a lot more consistent over time. If you liked shit like Staremasters, you will love the CMC in later seasons.
