I want my waifu to be happy. Since neither she or I cant ever meet, why would I want to deprive her of the feeling of having love? Would you really want your waifu to be just as lonely and miserable as you?

Depends on who. I don't waifu any of the mane six, but a canon love interest for one of them would ruin the show. Either they insert them everywhere, and ruin the dynamic of the girls, or they don't do anything, never show up, then become dead weight. It's just a bad element. The love between Big Mac and Sugar Belle was pretty much the only shipping they could get away with, and thankfully it was fucking adorable

I'm not a Flutterfag and I'm always a little peeved when people unironically suggest Fluttercord is canon. (Fortunately it's mostly shitposting.) I mean, it's clear that they leave it up to the fans to make that ship if they want, but they don't do anything actually romantic. I'd really rather the show not ship them, too.

If they ever kiss or anything, I'd be upset. Besides, if any of the M6 is going to have a real romance arc, it ought to be Rarity.

No. I don't mind that my waifu almost has a cannon ship (Trixie x Starlight). Any ship occupies a spot in my brain reserved for thought experiments where I can think about and enjoy without actually believing them. I know my waifu isn't a exact copy from the show, she is my own personal interpretation of her, so her getting a love interest doesn't necessitate that my my waifu is taken
