Why the FUCK does Glimmer always mention that she enslaved and

Exposition. It's a big part of her character so people who haven't watched the previous episodes know what's up.

Truth be told, this is something I don't necessarily mind. It suggests she hasn't really made peace with it so she keeps bringing it up as a way to reassure herself that she's changed.

I think that might be leading to something but I don't trust the show for long-term writing plans.

They tried to reform Chrysalis, but she didn't want any of that. Which was pretty cool. Even the writers noticed that it was pretty retarded to have 5 reformed former-villains.

Don't get me wrong, there is a disconnect between season 1 and season 2, but beyond that they are written very consistently. I'd even argue that ignoring the season 1 plan was a lot smarter for several reasons, as it both allowed the writers to better integrate everything the CMC learned in the past (making a lot of their development null and void by giving them non cutie mark related marks would be a bad idea) and spoiling what their cutie marks were supposed to be that early was just a bad idea and made the CMC look like idiots (those episodes are a bit better now that showstoppers doesn't ruin everything).

The marks about helping other people find their cutie marks makes so much sense for the CMCs characters, as ever since season 2 a major trait each have shared are being kind hearted/wanting to help people, but not always knowing what the best way would be and being push overs to an extent (like in one bad apples), these traits can be expanded on (and have been already) now that they have those types of marks. Furthermore, the helping people marks also better the writers to show that the CMC are growing up by giving them something akin to a job, rather than just being about their hobbies.
