Alas (or not) back in 2015 when /mlp/ jumped on the mystery the author simply wasn't expecting us to burn through all of the content so quickly and couldn't keep up with updates so it kind of died down. Also there doesn't seem to be any grander scheme of things behind posts as of recent times, new updates doesn't have that "spark", that something that drove the thing back in 2015 anymore, so there's not much to do here, except for wait and lurk. t. originalfag anon not on Skype or any shitcord

The thing that never sat right with me was classifying loona as an ARG. I mean, yeah there are secrets here and there, and loona is cryptic as all hell, but there's really no ARG "vibe".

Like the first loonadventure blog really wasn't an ARG either. It had a few secrets similar to askloona but there really was no real connections that implied any ARG was taking place. To me, this isn't a bad thing, as really in 2017 ARG's are becoming more common, and pretty saturated so its some what comforting to me

Loona if you somehow read this, please for the love of god keep doing whatever you are doing, i thoroughly enjoy your blog.

I admit, I stopped maintaining the pastebin archive for this thing a long while back for similar reasons. Between needing to reformat links due to various sites closing down and the blog seeming to stop really going anywhere, it just felt... not as much incentive for maintaining stuff, and much more a pain. Unfortunately; those first few threads still hold a place in my heart. Heck, there's stuff from back then we still haven't cracked and I still wonder about.

Could you share some of those secrets? I've missed this whole thing and now I'm intrigued.

I kinda have to agree, this never was a ARG per se (like Cicada for instance), and the "whoah i think something moved past my window #reallyspookedrightnow" fags weren't very useful and slightly annoying even, but if you look at recent posts, and compare them with what we had back in 2015. Series of pictures forming a greater image - puzzles of mystery snapping into right places. Those pics/videos had not only an artistic value and aura of mystery, but also an added bonus of logical conclusion. And now? Just a couple of pics still having that artistic value but only that. They're no longer interconnected the way they used to or they are interconnected in such a fine way that it's way over our heads.
And don't get me wrong here, I know how hard it is to think out such a great and coherent 'riddle', I'm not bashing Loona for >hurrr durrr muh no more mysterysolving, I appreciate every bit of it and the lot of work and effort that has to be put into to create something of such a great qualty, so it's somewhat understandable there's not much of original atmosphere left.

if so then you're doing gods job at maitaing it all, big kudos
about that "yielded unknown gif code" thingy you have in your pastebin - it's actually an excerpt of few colors from global color table of some 100x100 GIF (and if you add the tail output into play, then that gif is ill-formated, that is it isn't complete (tail doesn't contain trailing byte)

I'm afraid I am not. In retrospect, creating a backup blog for the project would have actually been a good idea. Keeping track of all the links was one of the largest pains when I was managing the pastebin; posts would vanish on askloona, archives for this board would come and go, other people running backup blogs would close them, and so on.

Oooh, okay. Yeah, I was never much of a codefag, so I just tried to keep a log of what other people figured out for easy reference.

Also why even go for an "artistic value" if nobody even knows who you are or who to credit?
I'm fairly confident there is more at work here besides just "look at this cool art by mystery person" creepypasta attempt. all of the posts have references to different things like pic related, it just might be what you said in that is "way over our heads".
It just doesn't make sense to just post random pictures with obvious major effort, only to have no purpose. I could be entirely wrong here.

I'm no artfag by any means, but it could just mean that the artist burned out. It's damn hard to put out such quality content, make it interlock perfectly, and maybe even it could be that he well want to still keep up the level, but just plain out can't - isn't able to come up with more of this bizzare and brilliant ideas.

Well there's always a possibility the man behind the blog isn't doing this to garner following or promote his art, but just for his own/ours entertainment, or just cause - there are sometimes things you do without purpose, and i could say it almost connects with purpose of the blog like poetry - the purpose of the blog - like the data it contains, doesn't always lead anywhere, doesn't have to, and this lack of clear direction is what makes it worthwhile. There might be multitude of reasons. It's beauty and quality in its own, if you ask me.

Also I think there's more to "nobody even knows who you are or who to credit" that this - Loona eagerly participated in activities other than posting photos on her blog - like submitting posts to other people's tumblrs', visitng our threads on /mlp/, talking on Skype, even remember that penumbra pic she did? IIRC she did one for roby reshy as well. One could say that this is the way she's getting her recognition and gets the credit due. That it's still in Loona's identity not the author is secondary.

And one of the reasons why could be something connected to previous two - maybe the lack of major following like the blog had back in 2015 led to lack of motivation the keep it up. If people lost the interest, then the author might have as well.

Ironically, or not the one thing I always admired in askloona very much is this "heavy" concealment of author's identity in question.
that's why when I saw Loona talking semi-normally in those Skype screencaps I reacted the way I did (perhaps >absolutely disgusting is a bit too strong for a reaction, but you get the gist). It could imply there is a slight possibility he wants to end it and/or reveal himself. I ultimately wouldn't want him to do that but it's his blog so he can do whatever he wants, no matter my opinion on topic.

yeah. roby reshy had one of the best tumblr archive of Loona, but sadly he isn't around for over a year already. I have only partial archive of his tumblr post alas.
