I wish he could have an episode a piece with Dash, Pinkie, AJ (because their 1st team-up was shit), and Fluttershy so we could get a sense of what his dynamic with them would be like.
Hoping Uncommon Bond is a Spike episode for this reason.

Because the supporting characters are slowly moving apart from each other to fulfill their own lives.

The CMC are moving away from their older sisters (exception to scootaloo) in order to fulfill their destinies.

Glimmer is moving away from the mane 6 to form a new group of friends and spike will likely be part of that.
