Pls no. The CMC work well as characters because they have been developing out of the kid role since season 1. Putting in new characters specifically to fit the "kid" role would be a terrible idea and would likely cause a lot of episodes like Staremaster or Baby Cakes where the kid characters are obnoxious.

Honestly I can't say for certain that she CANT just voice act 1.5 semitones higher. There are some standard methods that voice actors use.
Part of it always felt like a semi-creative decision to me and well "it's a show for little girls who the fuck cares it's not worth the time investment and strain and who cares that even if that was the case this is a non existent problem for a modern recording studio"
Speaking of the modern studio, if there is sufficient interest, /mlp/ could make a separate audio track with her voice pitched up. Personally I just pitch the whole thing up by 1.5 semi tones in realtime.
